Skilled Tradesman – Motor Pool

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a Skilled Tradesman to join its Motor Pool team. This full‑time, onsite position focuses on maintaining and repairing the university’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring safe and reliable operation for staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Repair brakes, mufflers, tailpipes, and hydraulic systems on automobiles and diesel vehicles.
• Perform engine tune‑ups and address electrical system issues.
• Conduct preventative maintenance through monthly and weekly inspections.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in automobile and diesel repair.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Basic literacy skills sufficient to read and write work instructions.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and use required safety equipment.
