Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

LSEG is evolving its Reliability Engineering team and is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in St. Louis. You will join a diverse and inclusive organization that owns the availability, performance and scalability of a critical shared service, and you will bring a continuous improvement mindset to the team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for cloud-hosted systems, measuring and improving availability, latency and system health
• Design and implement automation for AWS and Azure environments to scale systems, prevent issues and enable rapid recovery
• Partner with development teams to improve reliability, observability and release velocity using cloud-native tools
• Take part in on-call rotations, incident response, postmortems and root cause analysis
• Advocate for strong engineering practices for building, deploying and running scalable services on AWS and Azure
• Support cloud migration through architectural reviews, operational readiness testing and observability dashboards (e.g. Datadog with AWS CloudWatch and Azure Monitor)
• Drive continuous learning in multi-cloud technologies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Preferred: 2-5 years of proven experience
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python)
• Experience maintaining Infrastructure as Code with Terraform (or AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM templates)
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda) and familiarity with Azure equivalents
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (EKS or AKS preferred)
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, AWS CloudWatch or Azure Monitor
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance (AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps or similar)
• Git workflows and incident response and blameless postmortems

Preferred qualifications

• Strong understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and Azure Architecture Center
• Cloud security guidelines (IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager)
• Cloud-native databases (AWS RDS/DynamoDB, Azure SQL)
• DevOps concepts and modern cloud-native architectures
