Site Manager

About the role

The Site Manager will lead BASF’s Performance Chemicals operations in Vidalia, LA, translating global strategy into a local site plan. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Operations, the role oversees a team of roughly 60 employees and is responsible for safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated site strategy aligned with the Chemical Catalysts and Adsorbents Solutions portfolio.
• Lead a workforce of ~60 staff, driving performance against KPIs, operational‑excellence metrics, and capital‑project milestones.
• Manage union relations, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
• Own site operating and capital budgets, and champion technology improvements, debottlenecking, and efficiency initiatives.
• Direct process‑development activities, including scale‑up, pilot testing, technology transfer, and cross‑functional readiness.
• Partner with product managers, operations, and commercial teams to translate technical work into reliable production.
• Monitor the process‑development portfolio through KPI tracking, issue escalation, and resource allocation.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or chemical‑production environment.
• Strong understanding of union negotiations and EHS compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and capital projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
