Shipping and Receiving Specialist

About the role

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Specialist to coordinate inbound and outbound material movements at its recycling facility and offsite warehouse. The role ensures accurate receipt of materials against purchase orders, timely staging and shipment of outbound product, and precise documentation in SAP and OpenDock. It reports directly to the Logistics Manager and covers inventory control activities when required.

Key responsibilities

• Receive inbound shipments against purchase orders and verify quantities, condition and documentation.
• Create and manage outbound deliveries in SAP, and use OpenDock to set staging requirements and shipping lane assignments.
• Load and unload trucks on schedule, update appointment statuses and upload documents such as BOLs, packing lists, seal numbers and photos.
• Ensure accurate handoff of shipment status, exceptions and priorities between shifts.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe shipping and receiving area.
• Resolve discrepancies or delays with operations, inventory control and logistics teams.
• Cover Inventory Control Specialist duties, including inventory transactions and physical counts, and complete physical tasks as directed.

Required profile

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, with 20/20 vision or corrected vision.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Inventory control experience preferred; leadership or shift handoff experience preferred.
• Physical demands include standing and walking around the plant, bending, lifting 25-50 lbs. and wearing PPE.

Required skills

• Experience with WMS, SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Experience with dock scheduling or appointment software (OpenDock or similar) preferred.
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
• Demonstrated safety track record in warehouse or industrial environments.
