Shift Supervisor – Manufacturing (Palmyra, MO)

About the role

BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead production teams at its Hannibal plant in Palmyra, Missouri. You will oversee daily operations of one of five units that produce insecticides, herbicides, or intermediate chemicals, ensuring safety, quality, and target achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operators to meet production targets while maintaining a safe, environmentally conscious work environment.
• Initiate and track work orders in SAP, coordinating with maintenance to reduce downtime and cost.
• Collaborate with engineers on process improvements and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation, material handling procedures, and timely production reports.
• Manage contractor job setups, including confined‑space entry, lock‑out/tag‑out, and safety permits.
• Conduct safety meetings, train staff, develop staffing schedules, and enforce discipline per company policy and collective bargaining agreements.
• Participate in emergency response teams and receive specialized training on hazardous materials and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as an operator on a BASF Hannibal unit or 3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to lead a diverse team.
