Service Team Leader Plus One

About the role

Meijer is looking for a Service Team Leader Plus One for its store in Standale. The leader plans, directs and supervises team members in daily operations across the store's departments, acts as mentor and coach, and drives customer service, sales and store appearance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly and efficient service to customers and team members, and spend most of the time in the store
• Handle staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs
• Promote succession planning by giving career paths, identifying development needs and taking responsibility for promotion decisions
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and recommend discharge where needed
• Own the P&L, achieve sales targets and maintain shrink for the department
• Mentor and coach team members so they exceed customer service and sales goals and keep the area to Meijer standards
• Ensure the team is fully trained and has completed all required training
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations
• Promote a safe work environment and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of related retail experience
• One year of management experience
• Rotational experience in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli, plus customer service and product flow experience, is helpful
• Reliable and consistent attendance
