Service Shop Repair Technician – 2nd Shift (Palestine, TX)

About the role

We are seeking a Service Shop Repair Technician for the 2nd shift at our Palestine, TX location. The technician will perform inspections, repairs, and replacements on a variety of Walmart‑owned equipment, including trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop tools. This is an onsite, hands‑on role focused on maintaining equipment safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Create and process work orders for minor to intermediate repairs on trailers, tractors, and shop equipment.
• Perform diagnostics using technical and electronic tools, addressing engine components, drivetrains, HVAC systems, and onboard communication equipment.
• Conduct fuel drops, monitor tank levels, collect fuel samples, and complete related paperwork in compliance with safety procedures.
• Identify warrantable repairs, enter accurate condition data into the maintenance system, and process warranty claims.
• Ensure all work follows company policies, Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines, and safety standards.

Required profile

• Ability to read and follow technical manuals, safety procedures, and DOT regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and team members.
• Willingness to work the 2nd shift and adapt to changing priorities.
