SERE Instructor

About the role

Amentum is seeking a SERE Instructor for an onsite position in Southern Pines, NC. The role trains selected Department of Defense (DoD) personnel in Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) principles, following DoD policy and guidance. It is an hourly, overtime-eligible position under the Service Contract Act.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in individual, small and large group laboratory settings on SERE principles and procedures supporting DoD policy, guidance and the Code of Conduct.
• Run training events and assess student performance.
• Use blended learning methods such as eLearning, lectures, classroom discussions, team exercises, readings, case studies, role-play and skill demonstrations.
• May develop training materials, coordinate and resource training events, and coach other employees.
• Work in austere conditions, nonstandard hours and occasionally on weekends; limited short-duration CONUS travel may be required.

Required profile

• Secret US Government clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance; US citizenship is required.
• Pass a human-factors screening.
• Experience delivering instructional sessions that meet specific learning objectives.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with excellent communication skills and flexibility.
• Willingness to travel to an on-site interview at own expense.
• Preferred: local resident, graduate of an accredited US military/government SERE course, knowledge of DoD Code of Conduct guidance, basic instructor course, and operational experience in personnel recovery or SERE tactics.
