Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is seeking a Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary to lead its Legal Division. The role is a member of the Bank's Management Committee and serves as Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors, providing top‑level legal counsel and strategic guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Legal Division, managing a team of attorneys and support staff.
• Provide legal advice on regulatory, monetary‑policy, financial‑supervision, payments and community‑development matters.
• Act as Corporate Secretary, preparing board materials and ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
• Advise the President, CEO and senior leadership on institutional and policy issues.
• Oversee litigation, regulatory investigations and risk‑management initiatives.
• Develop and implement legal strategies that support the Bank’s mission.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree and admission to a U.S. bar.
• Extensive experience in banking, financial services or government legal affairs.
• Proven senior leadership experience managing large legal teams.
• Strong judgment, analytical ability and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior executives and board members.
