Senior Validation Engineer – Electronics Design

About the role

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are seeking a Senior Validation Engineer to lead hardware validation for next‑generation vehicle ECUs. You will work across infotainment, telematics, ADAS, battery management and zonal controller programs, ensuring designs are robust, testable and ready for mass production.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute validation strategies for electronic control units throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical and supplier teams to translate product requirements into measurable hardware specifications.
• Perform environmental, mechanical and electrical stress testing, including thermal extremes, shock, vibration, humidity, EMC and power transients.
• Lead prototype bring‑up, design verification, production validation and launch activities.
• Identify design risks, propose mitigation actions and mentor junior engineers across multiple ECU programs.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and validation for automotive or high‑reliability applications.
• Strong background in ECU development, including concept, architecture, component selection and production launch.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
