Senior Tax Analyst

About the role

Zurich North America is seeking a dynamic Senior Tax Analyst to join its Finance team in the Chicago area. The role involves leading complex tax transactional tasks and ensuring compliance with tax accounting, reporting, and planning requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex tax returns, supporting workpapers, and estimated tax payments.
• Prepare quarterly tax provisions, manage reports to management and external auditors, and support internal controls.
• Support company tax audits, respond to tax notices, and resolve tax controversy matters.
• Conduct technical research on complex tax issues and identify planning opportunities.
• Analyze processes, recommend improvements, and participate in local projects impacting reporting units.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of corporate tax experience, or high school diploma with 6+ years of experience, or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with associate degree and 4+ years of experience.
• Experience in income tax and statutory accounting knowledge.
