Senior Tax Analyst

About the role

Ulta Beauty is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its Finance & Accounting team. The role focuses on non‑income tax areas such as sales & use, licensing, personal property, and annual reporting, providing critical support for audit defense, exposure analysis, and tax system improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and respond to tax audits, including document requests, appeals, and correspondence.
• Analyze and maintain ASC 450 reserves for indirect tax liabilities.
• Lead special projects such as refund programs, annual report filings, and licensing renewals.
• Process tax payments, reconcile accounts, and post journal entries for indirect taxes.
• Conduct tax research and monitor statutory deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
• Perform data analysis using Excel and databases to review high‑volume transactions.
• Collaborate with internal finance, IT, and business partners, as well as external tax firms.
• Complete user‑acceptance testing for tax‑related system implementations.

Required profile

• Proven experience preparing and completing tax audits.
• Hands‑on experience with ASC 450 reserve calculations.
• Track record of leading tax‑focused special projects.
• Ability to meet statutory compliance deadlines and respond to government notices.
• Strong analytical skills for high‑volume data review.
