Senior Tax Analyst

About the role

The Senior Tax Analyst will lead US state and local tax compliance and planning for North America, supporting both domestic and foreign operations. Reporting to the Tax Reporting Manager, the role ensures accurate quarterly tax reporting and collaborates across finance, legal and tax teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor the tax compliance calendar, including due dates, estimates and extensions.
• Review and prepare state and local income tax returns, workpapers, estimates, extensions and apportionment calculations.
• Reconcile state tax payable and receivable accounts monthly and manage payment and refund procedures.
• Partner with external tax consultants on assigned projects.
• Collaborate with accounting, legal and other corporate departments to achieve tax objectives.
• Track state legislative changes and advise on planning opportunities.
• Research state and local tax matters and support global tax team members.
• Assist with tax controversies, audits and notices.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline compliance processes.
• Support preparation of quarterly US tax provisions under IAS 12 (IFRS) and related tax accounting analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in U.S. federal and state income tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of tax accounting under IFRS (preferred) or U.S. GAAP.
• Prior experience as a tax advisor or in a corporate tax department.
• Excellent analytical, research and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
• Experience with automation tools and tax technology solutions is a plus.
