Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to lead complex tax engagements for corporate, partnership, and high‑net‑worth individual clients. The role involves direct client interaction, strategic tax planning, and mentorship of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review sophisticated tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Develop and implement tax strategies, including quarterly tax payment planning and financial projections.
• Identify potential audit triggers and collaborate with partners to devise mitigation strategies.
• Represent clients during IRS audits alongside partners.
• Supervise junior accountants, reviewing their work and providing guidance.
• Participate in non‑profit organization audits and, when needed, manage audit field work and financial statement preparation.

Required profile

• CPA license (or Chartered Accountant) with at least 2 years post‑licensure experience.
• Minimum 4 years of tax, accounting, or financial analysis experience.
• Strong desire to progress toward partnership and boutique practice ownership.
• Excellent research abilities using IRS law libraries, BNA/CCH, and other tax resources.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CCH ProSystem fx Tax.
• Advanced use of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and SSARS.
• Competence with Microsoft Office Suite and time‑and‑billing software.
