Senior Tax Accountant – Family Office (NY)

About the role

This senior tax position supports a top‑10 wealth management firm’s family office division in New York. The role blends tax compliance, planning, financial administration, and client advisory for high‑net‑worth individuals and families.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, business, and fiduciary income tax returns, including multi‑state filings.
• Assist with tax planning, projections, estimated tax calculations, and year‑round advisory services.
• Respond to tax notices and support IRS and state tax audits.
• Conduct tax research and contribute to special projects.
• Review payroll tax filings and information returns.
• Support forensic accounting and financial analyses related to matrimonial matters.
• Provide business management and financial administration services, reviewing statements, budgets, cash‑flow analyses, and financial plans.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.
• Collaborate with attorneys, investment advisors, accountants, and other professional service providers.
• Manage workflow, client engagements, billing, and profitability of assigned accounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
• CPA designation preferred.
• 5‑7 years of high‑net‑worth tax experience in a CPA firm, family office, or wealth‑management environment.
• Strong experience preparing complex individual income tax returns.
• Knowledge of tax planning, financial planning, and financial administration concepts.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CCH Axcess Tax.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online).
