Senior Systems Engineer (Top Secret)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Top-Secret cleared Senior Systems Engineer to join a team focused on data innovation and advanced analytics, supporting national intelligence priorities while protecting sensitive data, sources and methods. The engineer helps lead large-scale data analysis, contributes to on-premises and cloud-based applications, and provides hands-on support for daily network operations, acting as a primary responder for operational issues.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, design, configure, install and test network hardware, server environments, operating systems and attached devices
• Monitor system utilization and response time, and troubleshoot physical and logical network issues using measurement hardware, diagnostics tools and communication protocols
• Participate in planning, technical review and implementation of new network infrastructure for voice and data communications
• Maintain network standards (e.g., TCP/IP), keep systems patched and current, and support certification, accreditation, SOPs and quick-reference guides
• Provide technical consultation, training and support for IT staff, and advise leadership on technology investments and project feasibility
• Plan and lead major technology assignments, and may supervise others

Required profile

• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8 years of combined experience in network and systems administration, virtualization, SaaS/PaaS, and troubleshooting
• Preferred: AWS certification (Associate or higher), or a similar cloud certification
