Senior Systems Engineer - Space Force Range Contract

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC). The role acts as Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) for assigned Long-Term Research and Development (LTRS) subsystems, covering risk, subsystem anomalies and DMSMS cases, and provides project integration support from contract award through the transition of Third-Party Developer (TPD) systems into the SFRC OM&S baseline.

Key responsibilities

• Develop out-year spend plans and give input on Government funding for subsystem needs.
• Write requirements for TPD contracts and support SOO, SOW, PWS and RFP development.
• Help project managers develop schedules and coordinate with Government customers and SFRC stakeholders.
• Apply risk management principles and support or manage LTRS Risk Management Working Groups and ROMBs.
• Oversee integration and transition of new or modified systems to SFRC OM&S standards, and help build training tools and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field; Master's preferred.
• 8+ years of systems engineering or related engineering experience.
• DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required) and a valid U.S. driver's license.
• Flexibility for occasional non-standard hours or weekends and willingness to travel.

Required skills

• Fundamental knowledge of engineering lifecycle and systems engineering processes; CSEP certification preferred.
• Windows and Microsoft Office; project scheduling tools such as MS Project, JIRA.
• MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo) and PMI certification preferred.
