Senior Systems Engineer – Operational Test Development

About the role

Amentum is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support the development of operational test systems for a NAVAIR program. This is a key leadership position: the primary design architect for automated test equipment, who leads Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and manages technical design, schedules, budgets, documentation and stakeholder interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Operational Test Program Sets (OTPSs) and Special Test Equipment (STE)
• Work with stakeholders on deployment, integration, testing and certification of OTPS and STE solutions
• Lead IPTs and run reviews such as SETRs, PDR, CDR, TRR, DVT and Depot Certification
• Run bi-weekly Technical Exchange Meetings and coordinate with the Government customer on deliverables
• Oversee subcontractor work and manage their cost, schedule and status reporting
• Develop Technical Data Packages, including Level III drawings and native CAD files
• Integrate diagnostics, path loss compensation and self-test/fault isolation features
• Develop automated test procedures and supporting documents (TSRs, SVD, SBP, TEI, SOP, OTPIs, CMRS)

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field, with 10+ years of experience
• Extensive experience with automated test equipment for electronic modules with digital and RF circuits
• Project management experience as an Integrated Project Team Lead
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required

• ATP development and integration of Test Program Sets
• Interface Test Adapters, test fixtures and cable assemblies
• TAR/TUR and SAR/SUR calculations for calibration
• Oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and impedance analyzers
• Preferred: PCOF-based diagnostic callouts, RF testing, DfT, and support documentation
