Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

Jeffer Mangels & Mitchell LLP is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation and maintenance of its core IT infrastructure. The role combines advanced networking, Windows Server administration and virtualization expertise to ensure high‑availability, security and performance for the firm’s legal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and optimise virtualisation platforms such as VMware, VxRail and network‑attached storage.
• Design, implement and manage Layer‑2/Layer‑3 network architectures, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, spanning‑tree and link aggregation.
• Administer firewalls, NAT and VPN solutions on Palo Alto and Meraki devices.
• Lead SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management and PKI/CA administration.
• Maintain Windows Server (2012‑2019) environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and domain controller replication.
• Configure and support clustering for file and SQL Server services, as well as hybrid Exchange mail systems.
• Oversee backup and disaster‑recovery processes using Veeam.
• Collaborate with security and administrative teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating enterprise‑scale networking and Windows Server infrastructures.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex WAN/LAN and performance issues.
• Excellent communication skills to work with attorneys and administrative staff.
