Senior Systems Administrator

About the role

The Senior Systems Administrator will work on‑site to ensure the stability, security, and performance of the organization’s IT environment. This position provides hands‑on support to end users, mentors junior staff, and leads critical infrastructure projects across multiple New York and New Jersey locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain servers, workstations, and networking hardware.
• Remove security threats, malware, and ensure up‑to‑date virus protection.
• Troubleshoot network failures, perform system upgrades, backups, and data recovery.
• Monitor server health, minimize downtime, and participate in 24x7 infrastructure monitoring.
• Support hybrid cloud and Exchange email systems, and oversee Active Directory and Azure AD objects.
• Deploy and configure Meraki, Barracuda, and other security appliances.
• Provide remote and on‑site end‑user support, including ticket triage and escalation.
• Document inventory, procedures, and technical configurations.
• Mentor IT staff, lead projects from planning to completion, and deliver training to other departments.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on IT experience in systems and network administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
