Senior Supplier Engineer III (TKM)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Supplier Engineer III to lead technical collaborations with suppliers, drive cost‑saving initiatives, and ensure high‑quality parts for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The role involves extensive travel, supplier audits, and cross‑functional teamwork in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate technical requirements of new and existing Best Known Methods and work with suppliers to define cleaning solutions that reduce lead time, cost, and risk.
• Partner with Surface Technology and Quality teams to ensure engineering drawing requirements are clear and communicated to suppliers.
• Lead supplier selection, technical audits, and continuous improvement initiatives, training other engineers on audit processes.
• Participate in quality problem resolution, supervise corrective and preventive actions, and drive systemic supplier improvements.
• Monitor cost drivers and supply markets to support competitive cost planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, mechanical, materials, or related engineering discipline.
• 10‑20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or related parts manufacturing/cleaning.
• Strong communication, influence, and project leadership skills, especially on new product introductions or Lean projects.
• High integrity, IP awareness, and ability to protect company interests on supplier sites.
• Willingness to travel >50% domestically and relocate if needed.

What we offer

• Salary range: $96,000 – $132,000 per year.
• Location: Phoenix, AZ.
• Full‑time permanent position with 50% travel and relocation eligibility.
