Senior Supplier Development Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Senior Supplier Development Engineer to lead supplier maturity, capability gap analysis, launch readiness, and structured risk reduction for critical aerospace programs. The role is based onsite in Torrance, CA, with a 9/80 work schedule and up to 35% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute structured supplier‑development plans and readiness assessments for new product introductions and work transfers.
• Lead capability, capacity, and risk assessments for assigned suppliers, tracking milestones and closure evidence.
• Coordinate inputs from program, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality teams when supplier maturity falls short of expectations.
• Drive clear issue definition, action ownership, and communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Support supplier onboarding, segmentation, capability assessment, and readiness review activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (manufacturing, supply chain, or related) or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of manufacturing or supply‑chain engineering experience, including supplier development and APQP.
• Proven ability to assess process maturity, capability evidence, and supplier execution risk.
• Strong project‑management discipline with clear action tracking and follow‑up.
• Willingness to travel 20‑35% based on supplier‑development needs.
