Senior Stress Engineer, Advanced Concepts

About the role

Join BETA Technologies to lead structural sizing and substantiation for an advanced narrowbody electric aircraft, working across primary and secondary structures from concept through preliminary design.

Key responsibilities

• Perform classical and finite element stress analysis of aircraft structures under various load cases.
• Develop global and local FE models, load paths, sizing methods and safety margins.
• Support parallel analysis lanes for wing‑pylon, high‑lift interfaces, composites and joints.
• Provide sizing direction to designers and close the design‑analysis loop as geometry evolves.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of aircraft structural analysis, sizing or substantiation experience.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials, structural stability and load paths.
• Must be a US Person.

Required skills

• Finite element analysis tools such as NASTRAN, FEMAP, HyperMesh, Abaqus.
• Experience with metallic, composite or hybrid aerospace structures and joints.
• Ability to communicate assumptions, limitations, margins and design recommendations.
