Senior Staff Module Process Engineer – CMP

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering, is seeking a Senior Staff Module Process Engineer specializing in Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP). The role supports wafer fab operations and drives continuous improvement for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions with customers to address high‑value problems, propose and implement continuous improvement projects, and capture learnings to improve key performance indicators.
• Analyze CMP process data, troubleshoot yield and integration issues, and deliver root‑cause diagnostics using analytics and FabVantage methodologies.
• Mentor junior MPEs, contribute to the CMP expert network, and drive adoption of new service technologies at customer sites.
• Identify opportunities for service renewal, upsell, and penetration, and present detailed reports with recommendations based on BOM, EC, FSS and FV360 data.

Required profile

• BS in Engineering with 10+ years of CMP process experience in a wafer fab environment.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical ideas to senior stakeholders and influence decisions.
• Recognized as a technical expert in CMP unit processes and wafer fab operations.
