Senior Staff Auditor – Internal Controls & SOX

About the role

DXP Enterprises is seeking a Staff/Senior Auditor to support internal controls and Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance. The role involves risk assessments, testing transactions, data analysis, and preparing audit work papers to enhance operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of SOX and Internal Controls with risk assessments and the annual audit plan.
• Develop risk‑based audit work programs using IIA, COSO and other professional frameworks.
• Perform operational effectiveness testing of business processes and IT controls over significant accounts and disclosures.
• Prepare draft audit reports and communicate findings to senior management.
• Provide assistance to Big 4 external auditors during the integrated audit.
• Conduct walkthroughs and testing for potential acquisition targets.
• Identify opportunities to streamline controls and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• Experience in internal audit, SOX compliance, or related financial controls.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance and operational teams.
• Knowledge of professional standards such as IIA and COSO.
