Senior Space Planner

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Facilities department is seeking a full‑time Senior Space Planner to support the UHealth Medical Campus. You will serve as the primary contact for geography‑related planning, enforce space policies, and mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, verify, and report on space data, drawings, and allocations.
• Develop preliminary program requirements and migration plans for department moves.
• Create site‑specific planning strategies in partnership with senior leadership.
• Perform regular quality‑assurance reporting and bulk data updates.
• Produce and modify space plans using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with project teams to communicate space constraints and requirements.
• Prepare quantitative and qualitative reports for internal and external stakeholders, including federal and state agencies.
• Conduct space audits, surveys, and planning studies across all UHealth campuses.
• Develop and promote standards, guidelines, and best practices for space utilization.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in space planning or facilities management.
• Proven ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
• Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and reporting.
• Excellent communication with senior leadership, deans, and department directors.
