Senior Solutions Architect, AWS Platform Engineering

About the role

Protiviti is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to lead its AWS Platform Engineering practice. The Associate Director sets architectural direction across strategic engagements, advises client C-level executives on cloud strategy, mentors engineers and architects, and holds a formal sales quota. The role is based in Indianapolis, with Columbus listed as an additional location.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex AWS engagements and advise CIO, CTO, CISO and other engineering leaders on cloud strategy and major technology decisions
• Establish reusable architectures, engineering standards, accelerators and intellectual property
• Mentor Solutions Architects, Senior Cloud Engineers and Cloud Engineers through design reviews and knowledge sharing
• Intervene in high-risk, complex delivery situations and ensure engagements meet client outcomes, security and quality standards
• Partner with AWS alliance and pre-sales leaders, and turn client needs into new service offerings and proposals
• Own or contribute to technical solutioning, estimation, executive presentations, proposals and statements of work, and maintain an assigned sales quota

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as MIS, IS or computer science
• 9+ years of experience in professional services or industry
• Deep expertise designing, implementing and governing enterprise AWS environments, and experience leading complex cloud engagements
• Experience shaping and estimating complex cloud transformation projects, and developing technical leaders
• Understanding of consulting economics, delivery risk, scope management and commercial decision making
• Consulting, professional services or systems integration experience strongly preferred

Required skills

• AWS: IAM, VPC design, networking, security, automation, migration, and infrastructure as code (CDK or CloudFormation)
• Amazon Bedrock (agents, knowledge bases, guardrails) and AWS Step Functions or similar orchestration services
• API design and integration patterns (REST, event-driven); data architecture for agent knowledge bases
• ERP integration patterns (JDE, Oracle FBDI export format) and translating procurement workflows into technical architecture
• Proven experience leading agentic AI / GenAI builds
