Senior Software Engineer – Platform (Containers & Kubernetes)

About the role

AVEVA is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Dev Services team and help evolve the Trusted Container Registry (TCR) platform. This role focuses on building internal platforms, automating container workflows, and strengthening security across the software development lifecycle. The position is hybrid, based in San Leandro, CA.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and continuously improve the Trusted Container Registry and related services.
• Automate image ingestion, tagging, scanning, signing, and publishing pipelines.
• Implement security controls such as vulnerability scanning, malware detection, and Cosign‑based signature verification.
• Expand the catalog of vetted base and application images to improve developer experience.
• Support engineering teams in onboarding and using TCR across AVEVA.
• Collaborate with Product Security to deliver roadmap features and ensure compliance.
• Contribute to auditability, usage reporting, and emerging open‑source escrow requirements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with containers, OCI image workflows, and container registries.
• Strong background in CI/CD automation (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm charts, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Experience with container security tools, vulnerability detection, and signing frameworks.
• Solid Linux systems engineering and debugging skills.
• Ability to write scripts or code in Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
• Experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or internal developer platform environments.
