Senior Software Engineer – Game Engine & World Systems (Autonomy)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of the world representation layer at the core of Applied Intuition’s Acuity autonomy stack. The role focuses on building the spatial foundations that enable high‑frequency simulation, sensor‑fusion and path‑planning for multi‑agent air, ground and maritime scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop core spatial data structures, including Entity‑Component System frameworks, spatial indexing, occupancy representations and 4‑D object management.
• Own the mapping and geometry pipelines that transform raw sensor data into world‑state information for downstream planning modules.
• Design high‑performance, scalable data structures to support large‑scale multi‑agent reasoning across diverse domains.
• Collaborate with sensor‑fusion, perception and planning teams to ensure seamless integration of world models.
• Drive performance optimisation and maintainability of the world‑modeling codebase.

Required profile

• Proven experience building world representations from the ground up in game engines, robotics simulators or autonomous‑vehicle stacks.
• Deep understanding of computational geometry, real‑time world modelling and large‑scale simulation.
• Ability to deliver fast, accurate and scalable solutions under real‑time operational constraints.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for autonomy technologies.
