Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

About the role

CACI is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in Denver to design and develop automated testing for software architectures in a cloud-based RF environment. The engineer supports a multidisciplinary team delivering a mission-critical force protection system, works with RF hardware engineers and system designers, and reports risks and opportunities to program executive leadership. The position requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and up to 10% local travel.

Key responsibilities

• Help ensure the quality, reliability and performance of the system by designing and developing applications, creating interfaces and test plans, identifying defects and collaborating with other developers.
• Develop a continuous improvement plan for testing processes and balance thoroughness with delivery timelines.
• Work across manual and automated testing and raise the overall quality bar.
• Design, develop and maintain test plans, test cases and test scripts aligned with requirements and specifications.
• Execute manual and automated tests (acceptance, functional, regression, API), document and track defects, and analyze test outcomes to give developers and stakeholders actionable feedback.
• Contribute to applications and test automation frameworks, prioritize QA against project timelines, and document test artifacts and quality metrics.

Required profile

• US citizen with an active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree or higher in computer engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Bruno and Postman, exposure to API testing, and comfort in a Linux environment.
• Strong documentation skills: manual test cases, test procedures, RVTMs and test plans.
