Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the FedNow program. You will help operate and improve the reliability of a mission‑critical, 24x7x365 real‑time payments service that transforms the U.S. payments landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the production environment for the FedNow service.
• Architect, implement and maintain monitoring, capacity‑planning and scaling tooling.
• Design and develop CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code pipelines.
• Lead resiliency, disaster‑recovery and business‑continuity testing.
• Own ITIL processes and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to automate across the platform.
• Proactively identify architectural gaps and run experiments to close them.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in infrastructure/DevOps or software engineering.
• Strong interest in operating large‑scale distributed systems.
• Willingness to work on‑site in the Boston area.
• Experience with ITIL, DR/BCP and production support.
