Senior Service Engineer

About the role

LSEG is evolving its Service Management team and is looking for a Senior Service Engineer to help move beyond support and operations. You will be part of a diverse and inclusive organization that owns the availability, performance and scalability of one of LSEG's most critical services. The role sits at manager career stage.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Service Level Objectives for the systems you own, constantly measuring and improving availability, latency and overall system health
• Write automation to scale systems sustainably, prevent service issues or recover quickly when they occur
• Partner with development teams to improve system reliability, observability and release velocity
• Take part in on-call rotations, incident response, postmortems and root cause analysis
• Advocate sound engineering practices for building, deploying and running scalable, reliable services
• Support cloud migration by reviewing architecture, running operational acceptance tests and configuring Datadog dashboards and metrics

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Preferred: minimum 8-10 years in the industry
• Preferred: DevOps concepts and way of working, algorithms and data structures, identity and access management and application security understanding, native Azure relational databases

Required skills

• Scripting languages such as Shell or Python
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
• Azure, AWS or GCP, plus hands-on experience with one of them
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace or similar
• CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, incident response and blameless postmortems

What we offer

• Anticipated base salary of $114,200 - $190,400, depending on location, and eligibility for the Annual Incentive Plan
