Senior Research Laboratory Technician

About the role

The Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute at the University of Miami seeks a full‑time Senior Research Laboratory Technician to support advanced research projects and clinical trials on‑site in Miami, FL. The technician will work closely with scientists to ensure accurate data collection, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Download, enter, and regulate research data while maintaining quality assurance.
• Contribute to report writing and create graphical data presentations.
• Monitor inventory of equipment and supplies; place orders promptly.
• Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
• Prepare status reports and risk assessments for ongoing projects.
• Complete all required documentation for laboratory requests.
• Schedule laboratory work based on project priorities to meet deadlines.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly equipment quality control and investigate defects.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Capability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to university core values and ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Required skills
