Senior Research Associate I – Laboratory Support

About the role

The Senior Research Associate I provides laboratory‑based support for the University of Miami’s research activities, handling specialized projects and experiments. The role also includes training and mentoring staff, students, and junior associates.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and present research data while maintaining accurate databases.
• Assist in laboratory maintenance and cell separation from whole‑blood samples.
• Handle biologic samples from study participants and support manuscript preparation.
• Perform data analysis and contribute to scientific publications.
• Ensure compliance with good research practice and university policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• No prior professional experience required; ability to learn and solve problems.
• Strong judgment and ability to interpret research protocols.

Required skills

• Collecting, organizing and analyzing research data.
• Cell separation from whole‑blood samples.
• Handling of biologic samples.
• Manuscript preparation, including literature search and figure creation.
• Data analysis using appropriate statistical methods.
