Senior Research Associate 3

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Senior Research Associate 3 to lead advanced laboratory investigations supporting the School of Medicine's research agenda. This position involves complex experimental work, data management, and ensuring compliance with best research practices.

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory experiments, including isolation of islets and other cell types from human and non‑human primate tissues.
• Prepare cells for transplantation and conduct molecular, cellular, and imaging assessments.
• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data; maintain databases and compile results into graphs, slides, and figures for grants and publications.
• Execute flow cytometry, in‑vitro functional assays, and statistical analyses.
• Ensure all research activities adhere to good research practice and institutional protocols.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Biological Sciences or Biomedical Engineering.
• Minimum three years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Hands‑on experience with islet isolation, cell viability assessment, and transplantation preparation.
• Proficiency in molecular and cellular immunology techniques and tissue imaging.
• Ability to interpret data at both assay and broader research levels.
