Senior Research Associate 3 – Biomedical Engineering

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a Senior Research Associate (Level 3) to support cutting‑edge ophthalmic biophysics research. Reporting to a principal investigator or program director, you will contribute to both basic and applied studies in optics and ophthalmology.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data; maintain research databases.
• Interpret research protocols, design and implement methods for assigned projects.
• Prepare analytical reports, scientific manuscripts, and conference presentations.
• Recommend acquisition of new equipment and ensure safe handling of radioactive and hazardous materials.
• Maintain awareness of relevant scientific literature and adhere to good research practice.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of research experience with a strong publication record.
• Demonstrated ability to design research protocols and solve technical problems.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
