Senior Research Associate 2

About the role

The Senior Research Associate 2 supports the Abdulreda laboratory at the University of Miami's Diabetes Research Institute. The role ensures efficient laboratory operations, compliance with regulations, and contributes to advanced research on pancreatic islet biology and diabetes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and assist with mouse colonies, genotyping, and immunosuppression treatments.
• Perform in‑vivo and in‑vitro imaging of pancreatic islets, including Ca²⁺ imaging.
• Conduct intra‑ocular islet transplantation and metabolic tests such as IPGTT and ITT.
• Collect, analyze, and manage research data; maintain databases and generate reports.
• Prepare scientific manuscripts and present findings at seminars and conferences.
• Provide mentorship and oversight to junior staff and students.

Required profile

• Master's degree in a relevant scientific field.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant laboratory research experience.
• Ability to interpret research protocols and ensure good research practice.
• Experience guiding junior researchers and adhering to university policies.
