About the role
The Arkansas Digital Newspaper Project seeks a Senior Research Assistant to serve as Project Archivist for a 12‑month fixed‑term position. The role supports the digitization and preservation of historic newspapers, working closely with the Arkansas State Archives, Sequoyah National Research Center, and external vendors.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and prepare metadata for digitization vendors.
- Coordinate shipments and workflow between the Sequoyah National Research Center, Arkansas State Archives staff, and collaborating institutions.
- Collaborate with partners such as the Library of Congress and other vendors.
- Implement quality review processes for digital assets.
- Maintain project records and documentation for the Arkansas Digital Newspaper Project.
Required profile
- Formal education equivalent to a high school diploma.
- At least four years of specialized training and/or experience in archival or research settings.
