Project Director – Arkansas Digital Newspaper Project

About the role

The Arkansas Digital Newspaper Project (ADNP) seeks a Project Director to lead the collection of metadata, manage digitization workflows, and ensure high‑quality digital assets. This temporary full‑time position, funded by a National Endowment for the Humanities grant, runs through December 2027 and operates within the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Archives & Collections department.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and prepare metadata for delivery to the digitization vendor.
• Coordinate work and shipments between the Sequioa National Research Center, Arkansas State Archives staff, and external partners.
• Collaborate with collaborating institutions, vendors, and the Library of Congress to implement quality review processes for digital assets.
• Maintain comprehensive project records and documentation related to the ADNP.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in History, English, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of archival or library experience.
• Ability to work within university policies and comply with state and federal regulations.
