Senior Reporting QA & Data Validation Analyst (RCM)

About the role

The Senior Reporting Quality Assurance & Data Validation Analyst ensures the accuracy, completeness and consistency of reports across healthcare practice management systems, electronic health records (EHRs), billing platforms and internal reporting solutions. The role works closely with the Reporting & Business Intelligence team, operations and technical teams to validate reporting outputs, reconcile data across systems, investigate discrepancies and strengthen reporting quality controls. It is a fully remote position.

Key responsibilities

• Independently validate reports, dashboards and datasets before sharing them with clients, leadership or operational stakeholders.
• Reconcile reported figures against source systems such as EHRs, practice management platforms, billing applications, internal databases and automated extracts.
• Perform record-level and aggregate-level checks to find missing, duplicate, inaccurate or inconsistent data.
• Verify calculations, business rules, filters, date ranges and metric definitions across financial, operational, productivity and revenue cycle reports.
• Investigate differences in posting dates, transaction dates, adjustments, voids, refunds and reporting cutoffs, and distinguish legitimate differences from errors.
• Trace discrepancies through data extraction, transformation and reporting processes, working with analysts, developers and data engineers to find root causes.
• Conduct regression testing when reporting logic, data pipelines or source systems change.
• Develop repeatable testing procedures, reconciliation templates and validation checklists, create exception reports and document results to support audit readiness.
• Partner with stakeholders to clarify reporting requirements, escalate material inaccuracies and track recurring defects.
• Follow company policies for patient confidentiality, HIPAA compliance and secure handling of sensitive healthcare information.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting quality assurance, data validation, reconciliation or a related analytical role.
• Ability to interpret complex business rules and turn them into practical validation scenarios.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently, follow through on findings and manage several validation assignments at once.
• Reliable computer access and a stable, high-speed internet connection suitable for remote work.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and conditional formulas.
• Strong SQL for querying, comparing, aggregating and validating data.
• Demonstrated experience investigating discrepancies across reports, databases or business systems.
• Preferred: healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) or medical billing experience, familiarity with EHR or practice management platforms (ModMed, Tebra, Nextech, DrChrono, athenahealth, OpenPM), Power BI, Tableau, Python, Power Query, ETL/ELT pipeline validation and HIPAA knowledge.
