Senior Reliability & Maintainability Engineer

About the role

Shield AI is seeking a senior reliability and maintainability engineer to lead investigations of V‑BAT field failures and drive corrective actions. The role focuses on improving fleet readiness and long‑term system performance through rigorous analysis and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering investigations for V‑BAT field failures, repeat defects, and complex technical escalations.
• Conduct root cause and corrective action investigations, including containment, verification, and closure.
• Analyze logs, returned hardware, test data, maintenance records, and operational context to identify failure modes.
• Partner with fleet support, product engineering, quality, manufacturing, reliability data engineering, supply chain, and operations to resolve issues.
• Document failure modes, corrective actions, verification plans, and recurrence‑prevention measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, Reliability Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in reliability/maintainability engineering, failure analysis, or complex hardware sustainment.
• Proven ability to lead root cause and corrective action investigations from problem statement through closure.
• Experience working across product engineering, fleet support, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
