Senior Reactor Systems Engineer

About the role

Radiant is developing portable nuclear microreactors and seeks a Senior Reactor Systems Engineer to create and maintain mission‑critical operating procedures. You will work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and human factors, translating complex hardware and software designs into clear, DOE and NRC compliant instructions for Reactor Operators.

Key responsibilities

• Qualify as a reactor operator to ensure procedures reflect real‑world execution.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve operator interfaces, procedural workflows, and software tools.
• Support testing and iterative improvement of digital twin scenarios, operator systems, and human‑machine interfaces.
• Maintain strict compliance with DOE and NRC standards in all procedural documentation.
• Develop and refine operational procedures that integrate software and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.

Required profile

• 6‑7+ years of full‑time professional experience in engineering problem‑solving, system design, analysis, or testing.
• Proven ability to manage or optimize complex hardware and software processes for testing and operations.
• First‑principles thinking applied to ambiguous, high‑risk situations.
• Background in a highly regulated industry such as nuclear, aerospace, aviation, or maritime.
