Senior Quality Inspector

About the role

The Senior Quality Inspector performs advanced-level inspections of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic components, subassemblies and final assemblies to ensure compliance with DDN's quality standards, specifications and regulatory requirements. The role supports manufacturing, supplier quality and engineering teams by identifying non-conformances, helping with root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in-process, incoming and final inspections using tools such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters and microscopes.
• Interpret and apply mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications and standards such as IPC-A-610 and ANSI/ASME Y14.5.
• Document inspection results and non-conformances in DDN's quality systems.
• Support first article inspections (FAI), new product introduction (NPI) and production validation with Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Inspect vendor-supplied components and communicate quality issues for disposition.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (RCCA) processes.
• Assist in training junior inspectors and operators on inspection standards and techniques.
• Maintain inspection reports, calibration logs and quality metrics, and comply with ISO 9001:2015 where applicable.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a high-tech or electronics manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or similar quality standards.
• Familiarity with ERP and quality systems (e.g. Oracle, Propel).
• Preferred: ASQ CQI certification, prior experience in aerospace, data storage or high-performance computing, and working knowledge of ESD controls and cleanroom practices.
