Job description
About the role
SailPoint is hiring a Senior Test Engineer for its Data Access Security (DAS) product, part of the US team within the international DAS Engineering organization. DAS is a SaaS data access governance product that helps organizations discover, classify and govern access to sensitive data across cloud, SaaS and on-premises systems. The role works with the FedRAMP program, requires US citizenship and onsite work in Austin, Texas.
Key responsibilities
- Characterize the technical quality of Data Access Security across a continuous SaaS delivery model.
- Own the development, maintenance and execution of test cases in the DAS control plane (onboarding, crawling, permissions collection, data classification, activity monitoring, forensics, certifications and alerts) and against connectors that reach customer data sources.
- Work with developers and testers locally in the US and internationally, and with internal and external stakeholders to reproduce issues, isolate defects and confirm fixes.
- Follow a 30-day onboarding plan, then take ownership of QA deliverables for a Scrum team, author test plans for new features and partner with developers on defect resolution.
- Over time, design an end-to-end test matrix for data governance scenarios, improve test coverage, mentor teammates and lead testing strategy for major product releases.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 years of experience testing enterprise software, preferably SaaS or cloud-native products.
- Experience testing distributed systems such as APIs, microservices and asynchronous workflows.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain test cases and to work with software engineers on issue resolution.
- Ability to design and run end-to-end tests across UI, APIs and data outcomes, and to communicate clearly with people at different technical levels.
- Education: BA/BS or equivalent experience.
Required skills
- Highly desirable: C#.NET, Java, JavaScript, JSON and XML.
- REST API testing with Postman or similar.
- SQL and a database platform (SQL Server strongly preferred).
- Microsoft 365, cloud storage (AWS S3, Box, Google Drive), data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks) or on-prem file systems.
- AWS, Kubernetes or Kafka-based services.
- Identity governance, access certifications or data classification.
What we offer
- Estimated base salary for US employees of $86,900 - $146,438, with possible bonus plan, commission and equity eligibility.
- Medical, dental and vision insurance, disability and life coverage, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) with company matching, 8 paid holidays, sick leave and paid parental leave.
