Senior Property and Casualty Claims Adjuster

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Senior Adjuster in Addison to investigate and adjust property and casualty claims, both residential and commercial, with little to no supervision. The role involves inspecting claims, negotiating settlements and maintaining client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect claims and contact involved parties in a timely manner
• Investigate the circumstances of each claim to determine coverage, cause and compensable damages or reserves
• Examine insurance policies and other records to determine coverage
• Prepare estimates for the cost of repair and/or replacement
• Interview claimants and witnesses about submitted claims
• Negotiate and settle first and third-party claims
• Handle salvage and subrogation as required by the client
• Maintain client relationships to secure repeat business
• Support the organization's quality programs, travel as required and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• IIA-AIC designation required
• Appropriate state adjuster license required
• Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to work independently or in a team, meet performance competencies and handle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Physical requirements: standing or walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds, driving up to 4 hours per day, and working outdoors in hot or cold weather
