Senior Project Manager – Oncology Clinical Trials

About the role

System One is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead oncology clinical trials in Philadelphia. This hybrid position combines on‑site collaboration with remote work, offering the opportunity to oversee complex, multi‑disciplinary projects from planning through close‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall planning, execution, and close‑out of oncology clinical trials, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Coordinate communication among funders, project teams, and external stakeholders.
• Review contracts, protocols, budgets, and CRFs to define project scope.
• Supervise cross‑functional teams including Medical, Data Management, Regulatory, Monitoring, and Clinical Supplies.
• Develop detailed project plans, SOPs, and monitor budgets and resource allocations.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and accurate data reporting.
• Distribute protocol amendments and communicate adverse effects to sites.
• Mentor junior staff such as Project Managers, Associate Project Managers, and CRAs.
• Provide regular status updates to sponsors and senior leadership.
• Assist in proposal preparation for new contracts.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in healthcare, specifically oncology clinical trial management or data management services.
• Proven background in pharmaceutical industry, CRO, or multisite trial environments.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree and SOCRA certification preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
