About the role
SMX is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a complex, enterprise‑level program for a Washington DC‑based federal customer. The role blends agile delivery with deep navigation of government organizational structures, requiring both technical rigor and strategic communication.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage multi‑team projects using agile frameworks and best practices.
- Orchestrate scope, schedule, risks, issues, and dependencies across interdependent initiatives.
- Control program budgets and resources with precision and accountability.
- Communicate technology scope, risk mitigation, and roadmaps to diverse stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver executive‑level presentations and reports.
- Ensure technical deliverables meet quality standards through agile delivery.
- Navigate and thrive within intricate federal regulatory structures.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Current Agile certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist).
- At least 10 years of experience leading complex, agile‑driven programs.
- Proven experience working within federal financial regulatory agencies or other government entities.
Required skills
- Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and hands‑on delivery.
- DevSecOps practices and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Data modernization, analytics platforms, and technology transformation initiatives.
- Strong technical communication and ability to translate complex concepts for executive audiences.
