Senior Project Engineer

About the role

This is a senior Project Engineer position whose purpose is to plan and carry out work requiring sound technical and business judgment in evaluating, organizing and executing project management assignments worldwide. The role manages and coordinates project activities in line with the contract, ensuring safety, quality, value, timeliness and profitability of the completed project. It may cover Project Engineer, Area Project Manager or engineering management responsibilities on large projects, several medium projects or a complex part of a larger project, following the directions of the Project Director, Project Manager or Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor progress, prepare procedures, document communications and meetings, and identify and evaluate project issues and problems
• Coordinate activities across project functions and engineering disciplines according to project baseline documents
• Review staffing requirements and coordinate staffing with functional managers and subcontractors
• Support project plans and schedules, effort hours, cost estimates and budgets, and monitor progress and cost performance
• Coordinate design, procurement, material management and construction on technical and schedule requirements
• Assist the Project Director/Project Manager in preparing contractual and technical documentation, status and progress reports, and related meetings

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 10-15 years of experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM)
• At least one successful construction and/or commissioning field assignment
• Experience executing risk assessment initiatives and performing functional tasks with a clear understanding of procedures and interfaces
• Experience in international locations and diverse cultures is recommended
• Successful performance in project engineering on at least two medium or large projects
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills, with presentation and writing abilities
• Basic computer skills (word processing, email, spreadsheets, project management tools); PMP certification suggested
