Senior Project Engineer

About the role

Alston Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support project delivery across its Sacramento office. The role involves reviewing contract and design documents, assisting project managers and superintendents, and ensuring projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review contract provisions, design documents, submittals and shop drawings for compliance and constructability.
• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with proposal evaluation, budgeting, staffing, and scheduling.
• Prepare Invitations to Bid, develop estimates, perform quantity take‑offs, and support proposal development.
• Coordinate job‑site start‑up, maintain schedules, and generate daily reports using CMiC.
• Manage subcontractor coordination, punch‑list verification, and project close‑out activities.
• Issue payment applications, maintain cost breakdowns, and prepare notices for delays or changes.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in construction project engineering.
• Proven ability to review contracts, specifications, and design documents.
• Experience supporting estimating, budgeting, and schedule development.
• Strong coordination skills with subcontractors and field teams.

Required skills

• CMiC – construction management software.
