Senior Project Controls Engineer (US)

About the role

nPlan, a Series B startup focused on construction project planning, is looking for a Senior Project Controls Engineer with a background in project controls, risk analysis and/or complex construction schedules. The role is remote, with regular on-site visits to client projects and travel to the London HQ twice a year. Candidates should have exposure to generative AI and a strong interest in it.

Key responsibilities

• Coach clients on how to maximise the value they get from nPlan and build strong client relationships
• Manage strategic projects that embed the product in client organisations
• Mentor clients on using advanced features, such as LLM-based features
• Work with the Commercial team on engagement, retention and expansion
• Work with Product Managers and AI Engineers on prototyping and act as a domain expert in the LLM evaluation cycle
• Potential line management of more junior client engineers

Required profile

• Approximately 3+ years of experience in a planning, risk, PMO or project management role on major construction projects
• Client-facing transformation experience, involving challenging change with multiple stakeholders
• Demonstrable experience implementing strategic projects that improve an important organisational outcome
• Attention to detail; candidates are asked to mention the word 'crane' in their application
• Nice to have: experience in a software company or implementing software in construction, and experience with LLM applications

Required skills

• Good understanding of large construction schedules (P6)
• Excellent relationship-building skills
